Sheila comes to Watercrest with over 30 years of culinary and hospitality experience. She has worked in acute care hospitals, long term care rehabilitation units, restaurants, with most of her career spent in senior living communities. She has also owned a successful catering business. Her passion is to humbly serve all customers with superior service, while exceeding their expectations. She is always seeking ways to step things up a notch, whether it be in the foods prepared, new cooking techniques, or innovative serving options as AI. She believes in collaborative teamwork with input from all, being supportive and being a mentor. She believes everyone, no matter what they do, are vital to the organization and strongly believes if we take great care of our associates, they in turn will take exceptional care of our residents, and guests.
Sheila graduated with a Culinary Arts Degree from Le Cordon Bleu school of Culinary Arts. She is also a Certified Dietary Manager. She began her culinary career in a local long term care facility as a dietary aide. She quickly advanced to the weekend cook, which led her to pursue a Certified Dietary Managers course, then started in dietetics, which turned into attending culinary school. She then began her lifelong career in the Culinary and hospitality industry.
Sheila and her husband William live in Cape Coral, Florida. They moved from northwest Indiana in July of 2016. Together they have four grown daughters, four grandchildren, and a few grand dogs as well. Sheila enjoys spending time with her family, She and her husband love boating, being out on the gulf, fishing, or just enjoying the beauty of it. She also enjoys visiting national parks, hiking in the blue ridge mountains, and just taking a relaxing walk. She and her husband are also Chicago Bears fans and enjoy watching and cheering them on.
