Declan Williams discovered his passion for elder care early in life. At just 10 years old, when his grandfather, who had Alzheimer’s, and his grandmother moved in with his family, Declan witnessed firsthand the challenges families face when caring for a loved one. This experience ignited a deep commitment to serving seniors and their families—a commitment that has guided his career ever since.
At 16, Declan began working the front desk at an assisted living community. Within a few months, he realized that this was his true calling. Determined to prepare himself for a leadership role, Declan immersed himself in every aspect of senior living, gaining hands-on experience in front desk operations, resident care, medication management, dining, and housekeeping. He also dedicated significant time to understanding state regulations, ensuring that his work met the highest standards of care.
Empathy is the cornerstone of Declan’s leadership philosophy. It drives his actions and decisions, making his work more than just a profession—it’s his passion and calling. He is deeply committed to the well-being of both residents and associates, believing that a supportive and caring environment is essential for everyone in the community.
Declan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida and is currently advancing his expertise through an Executive Master of Health Administration program at UCF. His recent role as Resident Lifestyle Director at Watercrest further solidified his belief that lifestyle, purpose, and engagement are just as crucial to residents’ well-being as their physical health.
Outside of his professional life, Declan is an active member of the Florida Conference of the United Church of Christ, where he serves on the Board of Directors. His faith and involvement in the church closely align with his commitment.
