Hello! My name is Larissa Kostal, and I am so excited to join the team at Watercrest Myrtle Beach as Executive Director. I have over 20 years of experience in the Assisted Living industry and look forward to utilizing my skills to assist the team and continue the excellence Myrtle Beach is known for in the community.
I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. As a family we spent our summers at Ocean Isle Beach, NC which led me to desire moving to coastal South Carolina permanently.
I earned my B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Maine, Orono. My passion has always been assisting seniors; thus, I continued my education, earning a Master of Science in Gerontology from Hofstra University. During my master’s program, I embarked on my career in assisted living as a Recreation Assistant. Upon graduation, my career path became clear. The assisted living industry was booming, and I took the opportunities offered to grow my career by taking on new roles and eventually meet my personal goal of being an Executive Director.
I enjoy the daily challenges that come through being an Executive Director by building relationships with my residents, learning their likes to create a safe comfortable environment for them with support of my team members. I recognize the importance of communicating and partnering with families, and to best serve the needs and expectations have an open-door policy and my number is available for a text or call for prompt answer to any questions.
My husband and I celebrated 25 years of marriage this year, we love to travel on our anniversary choosing a new location each year. We have two beautiful children in college, Jillian, and Patrick. When I am not at work, I enjoy reading books, playing golf, and taking long strolls on the beach.
