34LeeAnn Brakefield,Executive Director, Watercrest Indian Land

LeeAnn joined Watercrest Senior Living with a life-long love for the senior care industry.  Her journey in healthcare started as a child, singing and playing with her parents’ church group at a local skilled nursing center.  After receiving her nursing degree from CTC in 2000, LeeAnn launched her senior living career as a charge nurse in that very same skilled nursing center.  From there, she worked in many aspects of senior healthcare including Skilled Care, Memory Care and Hospice care.

In 2010, LeeAnn received her South Carolina Long Term Care administrator’s license and became an Executive Director, and continues in this role today

LeeAnn’s experience of watching her own mom and dad struggle with dementia diagnoses has provided her with a better understanding of providing quality care and supporting families. She understands the struggles of being a “forgotten” daughter, and navigating unfamiliar processes.

In her spare time, LeeAnn enjoys time with her son Layton, a freshman at Coastal Carolina. She also loves cooking, taking photos, decorating, spending time with friends and family and her fur baby Gracie Nyx.
