Lynette Smith,

Executive Director, Watercrest Lake Nona

Adopted and raised by her grandparents, Lynette’s connection with the elderly was molded from an early age.

Early in her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Lynette cared for mentally and physically challenged patients in a skilled nursing facility in Indiana.  At this juncture, she decided to pursue a lifelong career in nursing, earning her certification as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

In her 27 years as an LPN, Lynette’s diverse clinical experience included specialized cardiology training, and the care of kidney transplant patients, inmates and skilled nursing residents.  In addition, Lynette successfully led a mentorship program in conjunction with her local hospital to support nurses beginning their healthcare career.

A passionate servant leader and supporter of common unity programming, Lynette paved a path for volunteer efforts in her local community by organizing student volunteers for nursing homes and assisted living communities.

Known for her sense of humor and charisma, Lynette loves to learn while teaching others and watching them grow.  She is passionate about providing the necessary tools for success and firmly believes in coming alongside of others in the learning process to help them succeed.

Lynette has completed her certified dementia training and is Florida CORE Certified.

“When I first joined Watercrest as Resident Wellness Director, it was confirmation for me that I was in the right place.  My heart for serving seniors aligned with my personal values and vison.”

As an Executive Director at Watercrest Lake Nona, Lynette’s Clinical background affords her the unique opportunity to combine her extensive nursing knowledge and genuine compassion for residents, families and associates.
